Khizana — “the treasury” of Moroccan memory
A digital library dedicated to Morocco, its civilization, its knowledge and its memory: manuscripts and Qur’ans, books and archives, maps, photographs, films, music, recordings and testimonies.
Its ambition: to offer a unified, structured, legible and accessible digital space — a gateway to the whole of Morocco’s memory — written, visual and sound — serving researchers, institutions, families, students and every generation.
Khizana is currently under development.
A twofold observation
A considerable part of Morocco’s heritage — written, photographic, audiovisual and sound — remains dispersed between libraries, zawiyas, private collections and family archives — often fragile, insufficiently inventoried, rarely accessible.
At the same time, there is not yet a major open digital library designed specifically for Morocco in all the plurality of its heritages.
Khizana was conceived to help answer this twofold observation — in complementarity with existing institutions, never as a substitute.
Everything written, photographed, filmed, sung or recorded by Moroccans, about Morocco, or connected with Morocco.

Every collection reported is the subject of a careful and confidential exchange. Every collaboration is built with respect for the rights and agreements established with holders. We only digitize: your original documents remain your property and are returned to you; the Foundation keeps none of them.
