This intangible heritage is priceless, but it is also the most fragile. Every day that passes without documenting a craft, recording a testimony or protecting a manuscript, a piece of our plural identity is lost forever.
At the IRFAN Foundation for Heritage, we refuse to let time erase this memory. But to win this race against the clock across the whole Kingdom, we need you.

Morocco belongs to all of us, and the IRFAN Foundation belongs to Moroccans. It is a part of them.
Recovering Morocco’s memory, wherever it is.
A significant part of Moroccan heritage lies outside the Kingdom today. Over the course of history, manuscripts, archives, objects and recordings were taken, bought and sold; they now rest in libraries, museums and private collections abroad. The Foundation is also searching, all over the world, for the people and institutions who hold them, in order to recover digitally everything that can be recovered.
We take nothing: we digitize. Families, institutions and collectors keep their documents — writings, photographs, films, sound recordings and everything Khizana sets out to gather. Only their digital memory, documented and protected, joins Khizana.
The IRFAN Foundation is the body that gathers and documents these collections, and that manages Khizana’s resources and funding.

Scanners, cameras and lenses, lighting, copy stands, storage drives: digitization equipment is expensive. You can donate it directly to the Foundation.

The IRFAN Foundation for Heritage is a non-profit association. It has applied to the Secretariat General of the Government for recognition as a public-utility organization.
