Press release — 12 October 2026

The second edition is postponed to 5, 6 and 7 November 2027.

Originally scheduled for 14 to 16 November 2026, the edition will take place in 2027 to preserve the Festival’s full international dimension. The Festival is not cancelled; participation commitments already made are carried over to 2027.

What the festival is

Two universal drinks, a Moroccan art of living.

An international gathering dedicated to coffee, tea, hospitality, craftsmanship and savoir-faire.

Created by the IRFAN Foundation, it brings together professionals, institutions, brands, artisans, experts and the public around two universal drinks which, in Morocco, are also arts of living, rituals of hospitality and social bonds.

Why the Foundation created it

Heritage is also alive.

Heritage is not limited to manuscripts and archives. It lives in gestures, crafts, rituals of hospitality, trades and exchanges.

Tea and coffee hold a singular place in Moroccan culture — that of an art of welcoming handed down from generation to generation. By creating this festival, the IRFAN Foundation wanted to honor this living heritage, document it, promote it and pass it on to new generations, in Morocco and beyond.

A cultural role

The heritage of hospitality

Tea ceremonies, coffee traditions, the crafts of the table, culinary know-how, the transmission of gestures and rituals. A dialogue between Moroccan traditions and the coffee and tea cultures of Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.

A role of encounter and transmission

A place of exchange and knowledge

Artisans, tea and coffee masters, researchers, schools, cultural institutions and delegations from many countries meet there to share gestures and knowledge — making Marrakech a place of dialogue between Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

The first edition

Marrakech, 6–8 December 2025

The inaugural Marrakech Coffee & Tea Festival took place from 6 to 8 December 2025 at Mossalla Sidi Amara in Marrakech. Delegations from 17 countries presented their traditions, coffees and teas alongside Moroccan artisans and houses, before nearly 10,000 visitors.

The 2027 edition will strengthen international participation and cultural and institutional exchanges, with an expanded program around culture, the transmission of know-how and the traditions of coffee and tea.

The festival now alternates with Art Factory Marrakech: the festival in 2027, the art fair in 2028 (3, 4 and 5 November), and so on.

Dates, program and participation details are published on the festival’s official website.
